ROCK ISLAND-Peggy A. Shew, 61, Rock Island, died Monday, October 11, 2021.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm immediately following the visitation.
Peggy was born on May 29, 1960, the daughter of Phyllis Scudder. After tragically losing her mother at an early age, she and her brother Don were raised by their Aunt Flo & Uncle Lloyd Scudder.
She graduated from Rocky in 1979. Peggy enjoyed bartending and often called the Mainliner and Rick & Kathy's, her homes. After marrying the love of her life Timothy Shew, in 1999 she became a foster parent and helped care for several children.
Peggy had the 3 best dogs in the world, whom she loved dearly. She loved working in her garden, spending time with her friends and as anyone will tell you, she loved talking on the phone. She hated saying no to anyone and would always try to help in any way she could. She had her Grandma's "heart of gold" and her Aunt Wanda's sense of humor!
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Timothy Shew; brother, Don Wayne (Kim) Webster. Although she was raised with her cousins she always cherished them as her brothers and sisters. Survivors also include; Linda Buckert, Michael Scudder, John (Darlene) Scudder, Sandra (Tom) Mansfield, Ellen Anderson, David (Debbie) Scudder, and Kerry (Tina Rivera) Scudder; Aunt Wanda Goins (John); special nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sheryl (Earl); brother-in-law, Michael (Sharon); and some very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis, several Aunts and Uncles including, Flo and Lloyd Scudder; sister-in-laws, Lori Shew and Yvonne; mother-in-law, Dorothy Shew and her loving dogs.
