PEORIA-Todd Ricketts, 57 of Peoria and formerly of Aledo, died Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 29th at 10:30 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the TAPS, No Kill Animal Shelter, Pekin, IL. Condolences may be left at speerfuneralhome.com.
Todd Alan was born on September 30, 1963 in Aledo, Illinois to C. Alan & Bonnie J. (Bailey) Ricketts. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1980 and went on to pursue his education at Black Hawk Community College and Eastern Illinois University, graduating with a master's in education. Todd loved sports and played baseball, football, basketball and ran in track in High School and at Eastern Illinois University.
Todd and Danielle Fischer were married on July 25, 2009. They shared a love of animals and shared their home with Denver, Dexter and Piper.
Todd retired from Peoria siding after 15 years of employment. He was also employed in the educational system for 15 years where he especially enjoyed coaching softball, baseball, track, and basketball. Todd enthusiastically followed the Fighting Illini, Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Todd is survived by his wife, Danielle; son, Bailee Ricketts; granddaughters, Tiana and Harminee; a sister and brother-in-law, Lynn & Jim Childs; a brother, Bill Ricketts; nephew: Jason & Susan Childs; niece: Lindsay & Brian Fearman and great-nieces: Madi, Haddie, Tylie & Brylie; and an uncle & Aunt: Bob & Sandra Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Todd was one of the nicest people I have ever known. When we met, we immediately connected and I truly will miss him terribly. My sincere sympathy goes to Danielle and his entire family. The world has suffered a great loss by his passing.

I knew Todd in Delray Beach, Florida. He was a wonderfully funny, kind, and giving friend. I will miss him very much and his memory will live in my heart.
