JoAnn (Jody) Lopez 74 a longtime Tucumcari resident, passed away on August 15, 2018. Rosary will be said Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass will be Friday, August 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Tucumcari Cemetery.
Jo Ann was born November 21, 1943, in Tucumcari to Tobias Garcia Sr and Carlota Sanchez Garcia. She attended Tucumcari schools and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and talking on the phone with family and friends. She worked for Coopers Thriftway for 15 years and for Lowes for a year and a half.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lopez Sr, her parents, a brother in law, a sister in law and two nephews.
She is survived by her children, Laura Smith (Jason Etzold) of Salida, Co and William Lopez Jr of Albuquerque NM; six grandchildren, Justin Smith (Genevieve) of Colorado Springs, Amanda Schubert (Alan) of Austin TX, Katherine Wesner (Nathan) of Parker CO, Marc Lopez of Albuquerque NM, Travis Lujan (Tiffany Callison) of Albuquerque NM, Brianna Lopez of Albuquerque NM; great grandchildren, Ryker and Bryston Schubert , Emily, Xander, and Sadie Huycke. Siblings Toby Garcia, Gloria Roybal, Ted Garcia, Geneva Encinias; along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
