Leopoldo Naranjo Obituary
Leo was born July 22, 1934, in the same home to Leopoldo F. Naranjo Sr and Juanita T. Naranjo. He was raised on the ranch and eventually acquired the property as his own. Leo was a member of the San Isidro and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He retired from the United States Forestry Service.
Surviving him is his wife, Eleanor Naranjo of the home; by his children, Bobby Naranjo & Donna of Tucumcari, Clifford Naranjo & Rita of Clovis, Leonard Naranjo & Wanda of Tucumcari, Margaret Garcia & Marty of Tucumcari and Fatemia Naranjo of Las Vegas NM; his siblings, Frank Naranjo & Bertha of North Platte, NE. , Nasario Naranjo of Tucumcari NM, Adolfo Naranjo & Cedilia of Cheyenne WY, Bernie Naranjo of Denver CO, Dolores Trujillo of Loveland CO, Bessie Duran & Ernest of Perryton,TX, Eva Yara & Trinkie of Perryton TX, Pauline Duran of Cheyenne WY; four brothers and sister in laws, Levino Pacheco & Marcella, Toby Pacheco & Lisa, Manuel Pacheco & Lourdes, Richard Pacheco and Vangie Nunez; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was very close to his granddaughter, Haley Naranjo who spent much of her time with DADA at the ranch.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Juanita Naranjo; four brothers and three sisters, Celso Naranjo, Alfonso Naranjo, Manuel Naranjo, Joseph G. Naranjo, Beatrice Trujillo, Mary Trujillo and Stella N. Trujillo.
Rosary services were Sunday night, October 16, 2016, in the St. Anne's Catholic Church at 7:30PM. Mass of the Resurrection was Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:00 AM in the St, Anne's Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Herman Naranjo, Jimmy Naranjo, Jeremy Naranjo, Jonathon Naranjo, James Naranjo, and John Paul Garcia. Honorary Pall bearers were Louie Naranjo, Joe Lee Naranjo and all Granddaughters.
