Lorrie Simmons Obituary
Lorrie Gene (White) Simmons, 60 of Roswell N.M. went home to be with the Lord, 1:08pm, April 18th, 2024. She passed away at her home with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Lorrie was born in Tucumcari N.M. on July 14, 1963. Daughter of Loren White and Genevieve (Gardner) White Brown.
Lorrie was raised in Tucumcari, she received several college degrees later in her life, around 1998, and moved to Roswell, N.M. with two little kids, under each arm,. Lorrie has 1 daughter Kim (Breck) Venezuela, now with a great husband and father (Tim) Venezuela. They now have 2 children together- Lorrie's 2 grandchildren whom she adored and loved dearly. Lily is her first grandchild. Lorrie loves being around her, always doing arts and crafts together. Gabrielle is Lorrie's second grandchild, Lorrie also loved being around him. They always loved playing video games together across town, there in Roswell. Lorrie has 1 son Timothy Breck all of Roswell N.M.
Lorrie fell in love with Mr. Rogar Simmons, they married July 22, 2008. Mr. Simmons had 2 children of his own. 1 son Brian Simmons and 1 daughter Tasha Simmons. Altogether Mr. Simmons has 6 grandchildren, between the both of them they had 8 grandchildren together. Lorrie loved each child and grandchild as her own.
Lorrie is proceeded in death by her father Loran White A sister Susie Hatton. Grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Herman White and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Gardner, Nephews: Charles Hatton and Marcos Benavidez and a niece Monica Laire, and Uncle Glenn Gardner.
Lorrie has 3 brothers: Christopher (Marylou) Hatton of Albuquerque N.M., Robert White of Clovis N.M., James White of Clovis N.M., A sister Gwendolyn (Hatton) Benavidez of Tucumcari N.M., nephews: Jason Laire, Marcus Benavidez, Nieces: Alissa Benavidez, Mariah Trujillo, Megan Hatton, Great nephew: Hunter Hatton, Great nieces: London Benavidez and Phenix Laire.
Some of Lorrie's favorite people growing up: Her mother, grandfathers, her cousins: Roy and Brenda McKinny, Sonny McKinny, Dolly (Gardner) Stacey. Great Aunties, Margaret (Gardner) Hodges, Marie Thomas, Mary Toni Clark. Last but not least Fred and Sandra Pomeroy. Also, a big thank you goes out to Robert Chavez for always being there, helping Lorries mother, still to this day.
Things Lorrie loved to do in life: Go to Calvery Chapel in Roswell. She loved to drink tea, while visiting with her family and friends. Lorrie loved working in her yard and garden along with her husband Roger (R.B.), chickens and their dogs. Lorrie loved canning food off the property there in Roswell. Her home was always spotless, you could eat off the floor. Lorrie loved her swing on the front porch and flowers of many kinds. Her favorite color is blue, Lorrie had a dream of swimming with the dolphins, I know her dream came true when she went home. Matthew 6:10
She loved hiking, swimming, fishing, camping, arts, crafts, and dancing. Lorrie loved all animals, but mostly dogs and horses and hanging out with her better half, R.B.. R.B. would always bring her to Tucumcari to see her mother, whom she loved dearly.
Lorrie will always be remembered as a person who always thought of others first. However, Lorrie's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and the Lord.
Pastor Gordon Runyan will be conducting Lorrie's Memorial Service, held at the Tucumcari cemetery at 1pm Friday May 10th, 2024, in Tucumcari N.M.
