Michael Arellano Obituary

Michael Arellano, a long-time New Mexico resident, unexpectedly passed away on May 28th, 2022 while attending his son's graduation party.
Michael was born on October 27, 1975 in Baldwin Park, California. He grew up in El Monte, California. In 1997, he moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico and resided there until 2022, which is when he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He worked as a screen printer, assistant manager at ALCO, and at a woodworking mill. Most recently he had taken a position at Sandia Casino as a master of the custodial arts. He welcomed his children on March 3, 1995; January 19, 2004; April 29, 2011; and August 8, 2012 respectively. He was extremely proud of all of his children and their accomplishments.
Michael is survived by his mother, Linda Barrios; his siblings, Ronald Arellano, David Arellano, Daniel Arellano, Maria Arellano, Jose Barrios, Edward Barrios, Patrick Gonzales, and Theresa Dominguez (and their families); and his children, Michael Arellano Jr, Arcelino Arellano, Serynatee Arellano, and Cierra Uriziqu. He is predeceased by his father, Leo Arellano; his uncle, Orlando Arellano; his cousin Christopher Gonzales; and his nephew Patrick Gonzales.
To his family and friends, Michael was known as "Pirate." He was a fan of professional sports, and loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Lakers. He was most known for his comedic personality and fearless attitude. All of his loved ones can recall many moments throughout the years when he did something bizarre and/or hilarious. Pirate was fiercely loyal to no end for those he loved, right or wrong. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A funeral service is to be determined at time of writing. All flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 2418 South 3rd Street, Tucumcari, NM, 88401 or on their GoFundMe page.
