Florence Terronez a mother to many and a friend to all, 82, of Gold Canyon, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 in Arizona, surrounded by friends and family.
Florence was born on November 7, 1941, to Pete and Luz (Miranda) Gomez in Davenport Iowa.
After Florence graduated from Davenport High school she went on to become a L.U.L.A.C queen. Florence was employed at Oscar Mayers for several years until she was united in marriage to her beloved soulmate John Terronez.
Florence moved to Chicago, IL in 1970 where she became an active role model in the community and civil rights groups. Florence was a founding member of the C.O.P.A group. A group supporting the development of youth through art, music and Dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and Sister Mary Zarate, brothers Joe, Philip, Eferen and Pedro Gomez.
Florence's love extends to her 5 children Sons Mike and Brian Terronez, Jay (Kathy) Terronez, Tony Terronez, Lucianna (Fiancé Matt). Granddaughter Ashly (Dylan) and 2 Great Grandchildren Ariya and Aubrey and a host of nieces and nephews. Who are left to remember Florence as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word or an engaging story.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday August 22, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries. Mass with Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.

I can't believe Mama Flo is gone and it's been a year and her Birthday is coming up. I Truly LOVED MAMA FLO as well as my extended Brothers, Brian, Jay
Tony and Mike and my Sister Lucianna. We had some much fun growing up together as Neighbors and Extended Family!! Ma Flo was A Great Woman and Mother. She was so caring and we always had fun together, going out to eat, walking, talking, shopping, events as well as Going to Mass and Praying together. Ma Flo was Truly an Angel and I am so glad we were together 36 years of my development in life. I could always depend on Ma Flo as well as my Beautiful Yearly Christmas Card and Christmas Birthday Gift she would give to me. I know She is in Heaven with John.
