January 29, 1966 - June 6, 2025
Martin (Marty) Patrick Freshwater passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Abbott Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Born on January 29, 1966, Marty lived a full and vibrant life marked by personal passions and professional success.
A graduate of Bettendorf High School in 1984, Marty pursued higher education at the University of Iowa before earning a degree in business from Arizona State University. He went on to build a distinguished 37-year career in medical sales, where his dedication and expertise left a lasting impact.
Marty had a deep love for the outdoors and was especially fond of boating and fishing. A talented athlete, he was both an avid snow skier and water skier. In his youth, he was a proud member of the Backwater Gamblers water skiing team. One of his greatest joys was spending time at the family cabin on Buck Lake, a place he considered his sanctuary.
Family was central to Marty's life. He cherished time spent with his parents, siblings, children and grandchildren along with his friends. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs Chance and Bailey.
Marty is survived by his parents, Martin and Sally Freshwater; brother Michael (Suzanne) Freshwater; sister Sue (Kevin) Loveless; daughter Ashlee Freshwater (fiancé Chris); son Ryan Freshwater; daughter Olivia Freshwater; daughter Avery Freshwater and grandchildren Emerson and Porter. He will be dearly missed by all.
In accordance with Marty's wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread at Buck Lake during a private ceremony.
In Lieu of flowers any memorials may be made to your favorite pet rescue in honor of Marty's love for dogs.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.

Sue and the rest of your family, When I got notice about Marty, my heart sank for you all.
Siblings are our first friends and we get to do so much with them that when they are no longer here, I bet it is just unimaginable. I am sending you all hugs and lots of prayers of strength to get through this with comfort. Lean on one another and always remember how great he was to you and others.
