DAVENPORT-Funeral services for Steven C. Jones, 68, of Davenport, will be 1:00 pm on Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 12:00 pm to service time at the mortuary.
Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steven passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at his home in Davenport.
Steven was born on November 30, 1950 in Davenport, the son of Dutch McKee and Delores Schroeder. He married Debbie Ruth in August 6, 1981, and were later divorced. He worked for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #25 for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He was proud to be an American and marched in the Veteran's Day parade every year until his health started to fail. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and had coached little league baseball.
He is survived by children, Rhonda (Spencer Spitzmiller) Debruyn, of Bettendorf, Matthew (Lisa) Jones of Dubuque, Michael (Mariah) Jones of Shueyville, IA., seven grandchildren, brothers; Jerry (Charlene) Jones of Peru, IL, Ron "Squeek" (Kathy Jewell-Laverenz) Jones of Davenport sisters; Patsy (Ken) Welzenbach of Davenport, and Vicki (Steve) Schneider of Davenport, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Bob, Denny, Dick, Jim, Melvin in infancy, and sister-in-laws, Sandy Jones, and Greta Carlson, Pat Jones, and brother-in-law Mike Ball.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you remember Steve. He was a funny, audacious Packer fan. I was always happy to see him and he was also warm in his greetings to me. Good guy!
