Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Cheryl Jurgens of Long Grove; children, Lana (Kurt) Tucker of Iowa City and Jay (Sarah) Jurgens of DeWitt; three grandsons, Liam, Ellis, and Nelson Tucker; his mother, Ruth Jurgens of Eldridge; and numerous aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer; sister, Linda Jurgens; and father-in-law, Don Drumm.
The family would like to thank the health care workers at the Mayo Clinic, University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and hospice workers for their compassionate care and support throughout Steve's courageous battle with lung cancer.
