Verlee Schneider, 100, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Colonial Manor.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Funeral Services for Verlee will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Verlee Belle Jones was born on September 13, 1925, in Louisa County, the daughter of James and Lottie (Brown) Jones. Verlee graduated from Columbus Junction High School. On June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Schneider in Rock Island, IL. Verlee was a homemaker and farm wife for most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Columbus Junction and very involved with the quilting group at the church. She also was a former member of the Old Clifton Club.

Verlee will be deeply missed by her children, Stephen (Vicki) Schneider of Davenport, Gayle (Edward) Hoag of Columbus Junction and Mark (Garnette) Schneider of West Chester; grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Schneider, Steven (Heather) Schneider and Benjamin (Tiffany Zhang) Schneider; great-grandchildren, Sydney (Lexi) Schneider and Blake (Alyssa) Schneider; great great-grandchildren, Lucille and Archer; sister, Marian Bell of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.

Verlee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, on February 13, 2001; and siblings, Ray Jones, Wanda Skubal, and Lillian Chrisinger.
