Wilma K. Albrecht

August 25, 1928-November 13, 2021

ROCK ISLAND-Wilma K. Albrecht, 93, formerly of Rock Island and Moline, died Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Brighton Gardens Senior Care Facility, St. Charles, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday November 22, 2021 at the Church of Peace United Church of Christ, 1114 12th St., Rock Island. Burial will be private at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.

Wilma was born on August 25, 1928, in Bornsen, Germany, a daughter of Otto and Emma (Koops) Baumann. She married Werner Albrecht on November 16, 1946, in Germany.

Wilma and her family moved to the Quad-Cities from Germany in 1953. She was employed by Mosenfelders as a tailor in Rock Island until 1964. Her joy was baking and sharing of cookies and traditional German baking delights with neighbors and friends all year long.

Survivors include daughters, Marion Steiner, Sugar Grove, IL. and Karen (Brian) McGehee, Elburn, IL; grandchildren, Scott Steiner, Wheaton IL, Stacey Steiner, Jacksonville, Fl, and Joseph and Kaitlyn McGehee, of Elburn, IL.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Karla Winkler in Germany. Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at. www.Yursfuneralhomes.com. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Peace, 1114-12th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201.
