Gary Barclay Obituary

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Gary Rue Barclay departed this life Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, in Sheridan at the age of 62 years.

Gary was born June 13, 1948, in Lebanon, Mo., to Robert Gibb Barclay and Anna Florene Brisch Barclay.

Gary made his profession of faith to Christ by being baptized, at eight years of age. He served his Lord faithfully, until he was called to his eternal rest.

Gary graduated from Newcastle High School in 1966. He continued his education by graduating in 1970 from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., with a BS in Business Administration. He was involved in numerous activities during his education. He played football, basketball, track, cross-country, and baseball. He sang with the Black Hills Singers at BHSU, and was also in a numerous musical and theater productions with his twin brother, Larry, which included the lead in the production "Oklahoma" at BHSU.

He spent the last few years working at Shiptons, Warehouse Market, Cook's Painting, and helping his friend Dale Holder with his business.

His life's passions which he shared dearly with his twin brother, Larry and nephew, Brandon included numerous hunting and fishing trips. Gary was an avid golfer and played in many golf tournaments with Larry and Brandon. He also had a passion for reading and had read so many books. He was always there for his family - attending high school graduations, weddings, the births of nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews. His heart was as big as the sky.

Never hunted with Gary, but shared stories about hunting. Played sports with him in High School. He was a great competitor and friend. Sorry Larry and Joan for your loss.

I often think of the hunting trips with Gary around Casper and chasing elk in the Big Horns, playing golf and the numerous archery tournaments. We had a great time. I regret that I did'nt stay in touch. Rest in peace Gary.
