She was the loving wife of Jason McClune, stepmother to Kara and Allison McClune, sister to Kim Davis, and daughter of Larry and Sharon Davis, of Kutztown, Pa.
She grew up in Fleetwood, Pa., where she excelled as an athlete in softball, basketball and field hockey. In 1992, she earned the Female Athlete of the Year award at Fleetwood High School. After graduating, she attended Alvernia
College where she majored in physical therapy and played softball and field hockey. In 1996, she earned the Female Athlete of the Year award at the college and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014. Mandy loved the game of softball, coaching for 13 years at Penn State Berks campus and also giving pitching lessons to many girls over the years. She worked as a physical therapy assistant at Willow Valley Retirement Community and Diakon Senior Living Services in Topton, Pa. Eventually, she chased after her passion of opening a consignment shop and became the proud owner of the Purple Turtle Consignment Boutique in Lititz, Pa., for the last 10 years.
Mandy was a very passionate, giving and positive person who made a great impact on the people in her life, often showing compassion for others even though she had her own struggles. She was loved very much and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 201 E. Main St., Kutztown, on Saturday, December 1st, at 10 a.m.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 2nd, at the Alvernia University softball field at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Amanda's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. www.jdrf.org.

Steve Maraboli said it best, I am always saddened by the death of a good person. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known them and blessed that their passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor the deceased than to live this way. and find a cure for Type 1 diabetes with contributions to JDRF!

Mandy and I became great friends when I had to leave Fleetwood Elementary and attend Richmond in 5th grade. Spent many days together at her farmhouse near Fleetwood. I will always remember her bubbly personality! My son has type 1 diabetes too, and I'm always praying for a cure. Many condolences to her family. Mandy was a great classmate and friend.
