Cindy Killian Obituary

Cindy A. Killian, “Susie Summer,” 51, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Jeff Engelhardt of Ephrata for close to 20 years. Born in Reading, she was a graduate of Reading High School and Muhlenberg Vocational and Technical School. Most recently she worked with Penn State Health for 10 years, last working on September 15, 2022. Many would know her as radio personality Susie Summer, first with I105 and later with Y102. Cindy was a cat lover having countless cats both of her own and taking care of outside cat colonies. She also loved music. She enjoyed live music shows, including country and rock, but most of all she loved Bon Jovi. Cindy also enjoyed relaxing on the beach. Most of all Cindy treasured spending quality time with her loving family. She was a kind soul and will be missed by all. Surviving Cindy is her husband, Jeff; her parents, Jeff Sr. and Charmaine (Waid) Killian, of Reading; sons, Dakota Sausser (fiancé of Kylie Eisenhower) and Connor Sausser (significant other of Kayla Lauro), both of Reading; and granddaughter, Capri Sausser of Reading. Cindy is also survived by her brother, Jeff Killian Jr (significant other of Jennifer Nester) of Kutztown, nephew Trey Killian, and niece Astin Nester. Friends and family are welcome to gather from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611. Casual attire is encouraged. A brief service will be held at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Cindy’s memory to Pet Pantry of Lancaster County or WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital/Cancer patient help fund.Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com
