Wedge was known for his big heart, his
infectious positive attitude and his love for country, family and God.
He was born January 11, 1954, in Reading, Pa., where he spent most of his life. Wedge graduated from Exeter High School in 1971, served in the United States Army 2nd
Ranger Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment from 1974-1977 and graduated from Penn State University with a
degree in mechanical engineering technology.
He married his beloved wife, Sue R. (Witman) Lutz, in 1979 and raised three loving sons. He was totally dedicated to his children in all aspects of their lives.
He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. His love for the outdoors led to his construction business Lutz Masonry and later Armor Design Build. He was an active member of his church (Reformed Living Bible Church), participated in the choir and the prison ministry.
We cannot always understand why things happen the way they do, but one thing we do know is that Wedge's life was well lived. He loved and served others, and on his
coronation day, he heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
In addition to his wife Sue, Wedge is survived by his three sons: Seth D., husband of Jayme, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Adam, husband of Anna, of Alameda, Calif.; and Grant, husband of Barbara, of Fortson, Ga. He was a proud Opa to four grandchildren: Isaac, Abigail, Judah and Charlotte.
He was a son of the late J. Elmer "Buddy" Lutz Jr. and
Janet P. Lutz of Exeter.
Also survived and fondly remembered by two brothers, John C. "Putter," husband of Kim, of Oley; John F. "Chip" II, husband of Bonnie, of Exeter; and one sister, Courtney L. Gallagher, wife of Thomas of Haddam, Conn.
Services will be private. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
In lieu of flowers, Wedge had requested that donations be made to KPXQ Radio Ministries (http://faithtalk1360.com/) or Wheels for the World (http://www.joniandfriends.org/wheels-for-the-world/).

You do not know me. I knew Wedge when he and my cousin Kevin Black were friends in the late 70's. When your smoken hot older cousin has a smoken hot friend that would spend time with me when I visited my grandparents in PA, taking me antiquing, to the Green Dragon Market, it is not something you forget at age 16-19 . He also came to visit with my father Master Sargent James N Raymond when he was wondering if he should be a Ranger. My Dad was so proud of him. I have some letters he sent me with his drawings that I can not figure how to up load so you can see. If you want to see them please send me your address and I would love to share. I always had a puppy crush on Wedge and think of him often. I am Phyllis Raymond Gilbert. if you would like to see the letters. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a special guy.

Sue and family,
Shocked and saddened to hear the news of Wedge's transition to Glory. We just heard today Debi and I will keep you and the family in our prayers.
I loved Wedge. When I first stated to attend Iron Sharpens Iron at SBC, I was fortunate enough to be in his small group. Such a humble, Christ honoring man. He certainly loved you Sue. With pride he would speak of his boys. Men like Wedge are a rare breed these days. He will be missed.
Continued iprayers.

Dear Putter and Family:
So sorry to read about Wedge's untimely passing. He was far too young, yet we know that God has a better plan and it is in his timing that our days are ordered. Take comfort in that Wedge was in the right place spiritually to be called to his eternal glory. Yet our thoughts go out to you, your Mother and your family as you journey through this dark void this leaves with you. The Psalmist, David, says it best in Psalm 23 when he speaks of death as a mere shadow on our passing to our eternal home. Know that our prayers for God's blessing, comfort and mercy are with you in your time of sorrow.

Dear Sue and Family
I am so so sorry for your loss. I am shocked and saddened by this news of Wedge passing. We were classmates since junior high and fellow drummers in the band. He was a great class president and role model. May your many memories carry you through this very difficult time.
