Joseph Diana Obituary


Joseph Diana, 69, of Muhlenberg Township, died March 13, 2014 in St. Joseph Hospital, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Helen Mary (Beam) Diana, whom he married July 28, 1972. Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Matthew and Jeannette F. (Cieniewicz) Diana.

He was employed as a machinist with Schaeffer Brewery, Allentown; Stroh's Brewery, Allentown and Coor's Brewery, Elkton, Virginia before retiring as a production planner with Coor's.

Joseph was also survived by five children: Matthew, husband of Elaine (Ryder) Diana of Muhlenberg Township; Michael, husband of Tami (Hottenstein) Weidman of Ruscombmanor Township; Christina Diana-Colón, wife of Jorge Colón of Reading; Teresa Diana-Panacio, wife of James Panacio of Chalfont, Bucks County and Joseph Weidman of Exeter Township. Other survivors include two sisters, Janet (Diana), widow of Stanley Ustaszewski of Exeter Township and Jean (Diana), wife of Edmund Staso of Cumru Township.

There are also eight grandchildren: Madison Diana, Jordan Diana, Haley Weidman, Julie Weidman, Paula Seaman, Joseph Duggan, Valerie Panacio and James Panacio and two great-grandchildren, Anthony Bates and Evrin Bortz.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon VA Hospital, c/o Voluntary Service Office, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Building 18, 1st Floor, Lebanon, PA 17042.

To The DIANA family ,we send our deepest sympathy .Joe had became a big part of our life .such a wonderful man and family.the very first time we got to met the family through our beautiful daughter in law Paula they made us feel like we were always a part of the family.this man stole our hearts .I must say we will truly miss him .although our time knowing him was short i have some good memories of his birthday, christmas and just a few visits but always felt such a warm welcome.i will keep this memories with me always .this family is the warmest family i have ever met .may god bless you all and may he comfort all of your hearts with the memories you all have shared with him.god bless you all and thank you all for having us as part of your family.
