Judith Davis Obituary

Judith “Judy” (Page) Davis, 84, quietly passed away at home with family present on Saturday October 8, 2022. She and her husband Paul have lived in Laureldale and Muhlenberg Township for 60 years. Born April 17, 1938 in Cape Cod Hospital, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Gray A. and Eleanor M. (Deer) Page. She was the wife of Dr. Paul C. Davis, whom she married December 31, 1960. Judy, originally from Chatham, Massachusetts (with documented lines to Mayflower passengers), graduated from Wellesley College and worked at the Harvard University Observatory. After moving to Berks County in 1962, she joined the Holy Cross United Methodist Church, where she was active in laity leadership. This included being a member of the choir, Church Program Director, Church Council secretary, and President of the Board of Trustees. She was also treasurer of the Muhlenberg Community Library and active in the local Wellesley Club. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, playing bridge, crossword & jigsaw puzzles, and her cats. She loved her time with extended family, especially during summer vacations in Chatham, Massachusetts and Topsail Island, North Carolina. She is also survived by her children: Ann, wife of Martin Jenkel; John, husband of Elaine (Myers) Davis; and Diane Davis, wife of Lisa Baca and a daughter-in-law, Jane (Shurilla), wife of Scott Frisch. Other survivors include her grandchildren: Brian, husband of Brittany (Pickering) Jenkel; Timothy Jenkel, engaged to Brian Dalton; Peter Jenkel, companion of Theresa Fiumara; Laura Davis; Sarah Jenkel; Caroline Davis; Ryan Davis; Bryson Davis; and Arianna Baca-Davis; and her great-granddaughter Emma Jenkel. There is also a brother Stephen, husband of Elizabeth (O’Brien) Page; sister-in-law Eleanore, widow of Joseph Getz; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; and 5 great nephews surviving. Judy was predeceased by a son, Robert Newton Davis (1966 - 2012). A viewing will be held Thursday, October 13th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Judy was a good friend and a beloved child of God. Her passing diminishes all of our lives, but stengthens the church triumphant. I know we will all see her again in God's good time. Sleep well, sister.
