Norma came to live in Reading during the depression. She graduated from Reading High School. She met her husband, Dr. Meyer M. Dashe, at Brighter's furniture where she worked as a bookkeeper and he was buying furniture for his bachelor apartment.
She was active in the Reading School District PTA's, board member of the Visiting Nurses Association, President of Hadassah, and President of the Berks County Medical Society Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Murray Dashe, of Danville, California, and his wife, Robin; and Eve Dashe (Matisoff) and her husband, Alan of Harwinton, Connecticut. Also, grandchildren: Courtney Turnbull (Nashville, Tennessee), Summer Dashe (Dallas, Texas), Brett Dashe (San Francisco, Cal), and Cindy Skow (East Hills, Long Island, New York). Additionally, great-grandchildren: Jordan and Dylan Skow and Parker Mae Turnbull. Her brother, Jack Taksa, lives in Seattle.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Kesher Zion Cemetery 1051 Philadelphia Ave. Reading, Pa 19607. Cook Funeral Home in Torrington, Ct is handling Connecticut arrangements. Henninger Funeral Home Inc., is in charge of arrangements in Reading.
Contributions may be made to Hadassah or Kesher Zion Synagogue.
