He was born in Shillington, Pa., on May 5, 1930, to the late Paul and Erma (Mohn) Coller. His wife, Garnetta (Speck), died December 10, 2004.
He has two sons, Christian, of Seattle, Wash., and Craig, husband of Linda (Fronheiser); also a grandson, Matthew, all of Reading.
He loved sports and, in his younger days, was a team
player in baseball, basketball and bowling. He also loved playing pinochle.
Richard graduated from Reading High School in 1948 and Wyomissing Polytech in 1950. He also attended Johns
Hopkins University, Baltimore, and University of Denver, Colorado, and Penn State.
His career with Boeing and Martin-Marietta included mechanical engineering and computer programming and was part of the NASA program.
Surviving are his five sisters: Jane, widow of Russell Long; Vivian, widow of Frank Casper; Patsy, widow of
Robert Shober; Barbara, widow of Joseph Cipolla; Lois, widow of David Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service and burial at the convenience of the family.
