Mr. Collier was born in Midland County, Michigan, on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1934. He was the son of the late Alexander C. and Mary Alice (Fisher) Collier.
He was married to JoAnn P. (Bright) Collier for 50 years in March. She survives him.
Mr. Collier was of the Catholic faith.
He was employed by the United States military for 21 years, serving in Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force.
Following his military career, he worked at the Berks County Prison and the Purchasing Department of the Ag Center, retiring from both positions in 1998.
He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Michael, husband of Glenda Bright, Orwigsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, with military honors.

My deepest sympathy to you on losing Richard. Though we have lost contact over the years, I always remember your great spirit and being so much fun. I was so sorry to hear of your loss.
