He was the husband of Mary F. (Robertson) Equi.
Born in Roanoke, VA, he was a son of the late William D. and Anetta (Purcell) Equi.
He was a graduate of St Andrews High School, Roanoke, VA, and St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY in 1951.
Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during WWII in the South Pacific.
Robert was a sales representative for various furniture manufactures for over 40 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church. His faith was most important to him; at St. Margaret's he worked for the Legion of Mary and he evangelized his faith throughout his Reading community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Mark H. Equi, Exton, and Elizabeth Anne (Liz) Equi, Reading; two siblings, Anetta McDaniel, Orlando, FL, and Francis Equi, Roanoke, VA, and one grandson, Mark W. Equi, Shillington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Church at the above address.
