Stephen Trauger Obituary

Stephen P. Trauger, 64, of Stroudsburg, Pa., passed away following 3 months of

hospitalization on December 26, 2016 at

Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Steve was born in Sellersville and lived in Pennsylvania for most of his life including Schuylkill Haven, Wyomissing and lastly, Stroudsburg, following five years in Stanhope, N.J.

It was in Wyomissing, at his father's church, that he met his wife, Angela, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage in October. They enjoyed traveling through the Lancaster County countryside, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and working on their home.

Steve was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed various car shows and drag racing. Sunday afternoons were spent flipping from the NASCAR race and Eagles football. His latest passion was restoring old gas pumps and he was so very proud of his latest project - his Wayne 60.

He is survived by his daughter, Erin, and her husband, Nicholas Schoenherr of Blandon, Pa. He was so very proud of his loving daughter who he referred to as his "Missy". The loves of his life were his two grandchildren, Emery Theodore and most recently Ella Grace. He is also survived by his "second" daughter, Kaisu Stein, of Bochum,

Germany, and her son, Joshua.

Steve is also survived by his mother, Ruth, of Wind Gap, Pa. and two brothers, Robert and his wife, Cheryl, of Cumming, Ga. and Timothy and his wife, Penny, of Chesterfield, Va., along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend E. Earl Trauger.

Steve graduated from Wilson High School, West Lawn,

in 1969, Albright College in 1974 with his B.S. in Accounting and later receiving his Masters Degree from Florida

Institute of Technology. During college he worked for

A-Treat Bottling and upon graduation began a 40-year

career with the U.S. Army, retiring from Picatinny Arsenal in January of 2014.

Steve spent his retirement babysitting his two adorable grandchildren and working on his gas pumps and around the house.

He was able to give the gift of sight to two recipients through tissue donation.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m, on Friday, December 30, at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 87 North Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg with Pastor Edward Kimes officiating.

Memorial donations can be made to the Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 or the church.

Arrangements by William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. www.wmhclarkfuneralhome.com.
