1928 - 2018

Dave Jorgenson Dave Jorgenson passed away peacefully March 7, 2018, at the Veterans Home in Yountville at the age of 89. He was born September 24, 1928, in Washington, D.C., to George and Henrietta Jorgenson. His father was a career army Colonel, and the family moved around the United States, settling in Lawton, Oklahoma, where Dave graduated from high school. He then entered the Navy and while on leave in California met and married Joanne Wicks of Kelseyville, California. They had three children, Lynn, Kenneth and David. Dave had an outstanding career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in management, working in the head office in San Francisco in the 1960s and 1970s, living in Santa Clara and Danville. They retired to Lakeport in the 1980s. After Joanne's passing, Dave married Margery (Tongay) and they lived in the Riviera and Lakeport. After Margery's passing, Dave eventually retired to the Veterans Home in Yountville. Dave had an outgoing personality. He loved people, loved life, and made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed golf, gardening, was a lifelong Giants baseball fan and had many other interests throughout the years. He had a deep interest in the church and attended the Lakeport Baptist Church for many years. He could always make the most of life wherever he found himself. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Henrietta; his brothers, Ralph, Pete, and Ron; his sister, Beverly Jean Hendersen; his first wife, Joanne; his son, David; and his second wife, Margery. He is survived by his sister, Jetta; his daughter, Lynn; his son, Kenneth; and his dear friend, Lois Sullenger. He will be missed by all, but the sunny, warm memories of him will stay with us always. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Veterans Home of California, Yountville, on Thursday, April 12, 2018, in the Veteran Home Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. For information call (707) 944-4840.
