Alexander Terapane Obituary

SOUTHIN DEERFIELD, Mass. - Alexander J. Terapane, 91, of South Deerfield, Mass., formerly of Wallingford, loving husband of the late Carol A. Terapane, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in his home.

Alex was born in Meriden, Dec. 28, 1926, a son of the late Alexander J. Terapane and Adeline (DiMartino) Terapane.  He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and had a long career with the Miller Company in Meriden, followed by a number of years with Dime Savings Bank of Wallingford.

He is survived by his children, James E. Terapane, of South Deerfield, Mass., Lynn Sussman and her husband, Michael, of Amherst, Mass., and Alexander J. Terapane, Jr. and his wife, Geri, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his five brothers; and six sisters.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Monday, March 19,. from 9:30  until 10:45 a.m.  A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105, The Sisters' Project, P.O. Box 1643, Wallingford, CT. 06492, VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson, 168 Industrial Drive, Northampton, MA 01060, or to the Most Holy Trinity Church Preservation Fund, 68 North Colony Road, Wallingford, CT. 06492. Always loved seeing Uncle Alex when my sisters and I would visit our poppy, Carmelo. He was so warm and kind. So glad I have those lovely childhood memories of swimming and visiting during the summer.
