Dave was born in New Haven, Conn. Dec. 28, 1954, a son of the late Hugh Morse and Catherine Gallagher Morse, and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. Dave was a graduate of UCONN with a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering; he later earned his MBA from the University of New Haven. He most recently was employed by Medtronic (formerly Covidien) in North Haven, as a Manager in Global Engineering. Dave was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford.

Dave recently completed a 25-mile bike ride in Vermont to raise money for the Vermont Food Bank. He will be remembered for his love of ice cream and the freezer full of ice cream he always kept stocked in the basement. He was also known for his love of all things tie-dye, the brighter the colors, the better.

In addition to his beloved wife, Beverly, he is survived by his daughter, Kate Morse and his future son-in-law, Andrew Plante; his brother, Richard Morse and his partner, Norman Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by close family friends, including the Losi family, with whom he spent every holiday, Zachary, Kristine, and Jason Komerowski, the Murphy family, and the Mikulski family. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Morse.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Sunday, Nov. 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 S. Main St. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dave's life. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
