Henry Piaskowski Obituary

Henry Piaskowski
3/11/2024
Henry J. Piaskowski, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was born to the late Charles and Jennie Piaskowski in Shenandoah, PA on May 24, 1933. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Piaskowski, Jr.
Henry is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary (Dyrda) Piaskowski, a son Kenneth Piaskowski and his wife, Marcia, a daughter, Sharon Piaskowski and his beloved grandson Ryan Sternal.
A Korean War veteran, Henry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Hard working and reliable, he worked for The Emhart Corporation for 36 years. A nature lover, Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and birding. As an avid member of the senior community in Berlin and Cromwell, he enjoyed square dancing, bingo and Wii. A lover of music, he was proficient in many instruments especially in his younger days when he played professionally in orchestras and bands. A sports fan, he cheered for the Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his blue eyes, his sense of humor and love of family and friends.
Our family would like to thank the professionals at The Hospital of Central Connecticut Hospice unit for their kindness and care in his final days.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 461 Alling Street, Berlin, CT 06037. Burial will be at a later date with full military honors.
