Jane Landry Obituary

Jane Clark Landry
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Jane Clark Landry, May 6, 2025, at the age of 93. Mom passed peacefully at her home in Glastonbury, CT.
Born June 21, 1931, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Grant Clark and Dorothy Bidwell Clark of East Hartford, CT. Jane was the devoted and loving wife of the late Clifford A. Landry Jr., who passed away in 2002.
Jane grew up in East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School, Class of 1948. Jane and Cliff were high school sweethearts.
In mom's youth, she enjoyed summers vacationing in Gent, NY, on her cousin's farm and at her aunt's oceanside cottage in Clinton.
Upon high school graduation, Jane began working at the Twin Hartford's Insurance Company, now known as The Hartford Insurance Company. From there, she turned her attention to Cliff and on Flag Day, June 14, 1952, they were married at the East Hartford Congregational Church.
Jane and Cliff often talked of their fond memories living as a married couple on the campus of Springfield College. After graduating, they moved to Berlin, CT, where they raised their family, while her husband was the Berlin High School Vice Principal and football coach. Mom was always there to support dad and the team.
Family was always the most important part of her life. Mom lovingly cooked and baked for her family; hand-picked apples and blueberries for her pies were among the favorites. Beyond the kitchen, gardening was a favorite pastime.
As her children grew, Jane began a 25-year career as a Unit Coordinator at New Britain General Hospital.
In Jane and Cliff's leisure, they loved to travel; favorite trips included an Alaskan cruise, a Hawaiian vacation on Oahu, the Bahamas and Bermuda. In addition, they enjoyed camping and boating with their family and grandchildren.
We will always remember mom as a gracious, kindhearted Christian; greatly loved and deeply missed.
Jane leaves behind her loving children, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Sylvester and Dr. Russell Sylvester Jr., of Farmington, her son and daughter-in-law, (Ret.) Captain Mark H. Landry, USCG and (Ret.) Rear Admiral Mary E. Landry, USCG of Bonita Springs, FL, and her son, Jeffrey C. Landry of Glendale, AZ. Her cherished grandchildren, Michael Landry and his wife Jill, Katelyn Landry, Allison Sylvester and Sarah Sylvester. Her adoring great-grandchildren, Jack and Madelyn Jane Landry. Her sister-in-law, Frances Landry Terase, and her husband, Bob, of Marlborough, CT, dear cousins, nephews, and nieces.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, David Clark and his wife MaryJo of Maryland, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy Landry Weaver and George Weaver of Vineyard Haven, MA.
To mom's friends and neighbors, a heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support and thoughtfulness. A special thank you to mom's caregiver, Priscilla Asante.
