Maureen Platt Obituary
She is survived by her loving and devoted sons and spouses, Forest and Caro Platt, of Elkridge, Md., Jonathan and Allison Platt, of Southington, Ethan and Jennifer Platt, of Portland; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Hannah, Noah and Sarah. She also leaves siblings, David (Lois) Wetmore, of Meriden, Kevin (Eleanor) Wetmore, of Cheshire, Elaine Ford, of Massachusetts, and Paul (Melinda) Wetmore, of California; also brothers-in-law, Robert Hamilton, of N.H., and Ted Platt of Wallingford. She is also survived by many good friends in the Mary Our Queen Knitting Ministry, Ladies Guild, Book Club, SLV social Committee, Bocci Team, Theater Group, Knitting Knuts and Wednesday night Happy Hour Friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Jeremy Kortmansky of Yale Cancer Center and Dr. Gerard Fumo of MidState Hospital for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville for a Mass. Burial will be at South End Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday, (TODAY), from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to: Sacred Heart Academy Scholarship Fund, 265 Benham St., Hamden, CT 06514 or CT Nation Guard Foundation, 360 Broad St., Hartford, CT 06105 or Autism Speaks www.autismspeaks.org. Sorry for your lose. your mom was such a great woman. When my parents lost there house on Reynolds Drive, your Mom came to Welcome St. with all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner. I will never forget that. God Bless your Mom. Sue Beckley Condie
