Ralph O'Connell Obituary

CLINTON – Ralph C. O'Connell, resident of Clinton since 1960, originally from Wallingford, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in CT Hospice, Branford. Loving husband of the late Doris E. O'Connell.

Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Hartford, the son of the late Ralph and Josephine Galligan O'Connell. Mr. O'Connell was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the B Company, 397th Military Police Battalion in Normandy. After the war he returned to his education and graduated from Bryant College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. In 1959 Mr. O'Connell started his owned accounting firm, which he just recently retired from. He was also an avid golfer.

Father of Mark T. O'Connell and his wife, Sharon of Oakdale and Michael R. O'Connell and Robyn Duvall of Goshen. Also survived by three grandchildren, Kristen and Stephen Cibulas and Taylor Duvall. Predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Francis O'Connell; and two sisters, Beatrice and Genevieve O'Connell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (TODAY) Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church of the Visitation, 54 Grove St, Clinton. Friends may call prior to the service at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial with military honors in CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. O'Connell's memory may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. www.GuilfordFuneralHome.com.
