Stephen G. Lee
Stephen G. Lee, 75, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Barbara (Pratt) Lee, passed away peacefully with family by his side, Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Born in Hartford, son of the late Donn and Norma (Winslow) Lee, he was raised in Simsbury and attended Central Connecticut State University. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam with the 101st Air Bourne Division. Among his decorations he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Air Medal w/V Device, and 2 Oversea Service Bars. After his honorable discharge, he began a 26-year career with SNET and after retiring was employed by the CT Hospital Association and the Southington Board of Education. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and being outdoors. He loved NASCAR and camping.
Besides his wife Barbara, he leaves three sons, Matthew Lee and his wife Alison, Christopher Lee and his wife Leandra, and Stephen Lee and his wife Megan all of Southington; a daughter Jennifer Symmes and a son Scott Symmes and his wife Michele all of Southington; grandchildren Joseph, Ryon, Gavin, Makenna, Devon, Colin and Madelynn Lee, Shawn Symmes, and Nadia and Anthony Golino; a sister Donna Lee of NC, and brother Mark Lee of South Windsor.
His family will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2024, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery with Military Honors.
