David J. Couture

Bernardston, MA — David J. Couture, 59, of Bald Mountain Rd., died at home on June 16, 2021.

Dave was born in Putnam, CT on November 2, 1961the son of William O. and Estelle T. (Ciak) Couture. He was a graduate of the Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School in Danielson, CT.

Dave was the head of maintenance for the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in South Deerfield for over 12 years.

In earlier years he was a volunteer for the West Thompson (CT) Fire Department.

Locally, Dave was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 81.

Dave had a big heart for others and was a great friend to many.

Survivors include two brothers; William Couture of Thompson, CT and Richard Couture of Quinebaug, CT, two sisters; Georgette Couture of North Grosvenordale, CT and Denise Couture of Putnam, CT, nieces, nephews, two great nephews, one great niece and his dog Caly.

Dave was predeceased by his wife Patti (Adams) Couture in 2013, his parents and two sisters Rosalie Daigneault and Charlotte Couture.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 23, from 4 to 6 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 24, at 11:00 am at the East Colrain Cemetery (aka Brick Cemetery) on Shelburne Line Rd., Colrain.
