Lenord Meaike Obituary

Mass of the Christian Burial for Lenord J. Meaike, 56, will be conducted by Father Emmanuel Aguwoke and Deacon Louis Meiners on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Audubon. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Dedham at 2 p.m.  Honorary Casket Bearers will be Veronica Meaike, Coby Bonney, Mark McCool, Larry Meaike, Lonnie Meaike, Lyle Meaike, Lance Meaike, Ray Hansen, Jeff Anderson, Bill Schafer, Dave "Hoss" Anderson, Dennis Deist, Bill Murray, and Terry Munch. Casket bearers will be Randy Wegner, Eric Wegner, Jake Murray, Ken Foley, Randy Sorensen, and Terry Knutsen. The Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon is in charge of the arrangements. 
Lenord Joseph Meaike, the son of Willard LaVerne and Eleanor Wanninger Meaike, was born July 13, 1956, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, and died Feb. 11, 2013, at his home in rural Audubon at the age of 56 years, 6 months, and 28 days.
Lenord was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church northwest of Audubon, and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Audubon. He attended Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1975. Lenord was employed at Emmert Manufacturing and then American Builders in Atlantic.
On Nov. 4, 1978, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Tigges at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dedham. Three children: Tyler, Megan, and Chelsea were born to this union. They lived on an acreage northwest of Exira, and was involved in raising cattle and swine production. Later they moved to their present home northeast of Audubon where he continued in swine production and raising cattle. He then has been custom feeding hogs and working for a local farmer.
Lenord was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Audubon. He truly enjoyed his livestock, collecting and fixing things. He enjoyed taking items apart and reassembling them. Lenord held his children and his precious grandchildren close to his heart. His best times were playing with his grandchildren on the farm. Lenord had a very unique personality. Lenord was fondly called Lenord Skynard and his favorite sayings were "Git'r Done" and "Kick'er Back".
Lenord was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Willard LaVerne Meaike; his brothers: Lloyd Meaike and Linn Meaike; his nieces Emily Meaike and Allison Meaike; his great nephews, Carter Meaike and Phalin Stewart.
Survivors include his wife Jeanne Meaike of Audubon; his children: Tyler and wife Veronica Meaike of Audubon; Megan and husband Coby Bonney of Dedham; Chelsea Meaike and  fiancé Mark McCool of Coon Rapids; his grandchildren: Carson Meaike, Camry Meaike, and a baby boy on the way, Peyton Meaike, Brynlee Bonney, Easton Bonney,  his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joe and Freda Tigges of Dedham; his brothers and sisters: Linda and husband Jerry Petersen of Audubon; Larry Meaike of Storrs, Conn.; Laura and husband Bill Fancher of Audubon; Louise and husband Bill Tarwater of Guin, Ala.; LaVonne and husband Jim Campbell of Audubon; Lonnie and wife Kim Meaike of Manilla; Lyle and wife Traci Meaike of Beemer, Neb.; and Lance and wife Laurie Meaike of Audubon; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dale and wife Bonnie Tigges of Audubon; Ron Tigges of Lake Forest, Calif.; Carolyn Boehm and special friend Scott Olson of Audubon; Julie and husband Harlan Klein of
Neola; Jamie and wife Jean Tigges of Adel; Penny and husband Randy LaFoy of Audubon; numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
