Gill, MA - Rita A. Oberacker, 83, of Gill, MA died Thursday morning (6-8-2023) at Quabbin Valley Healthcare Center, Athol, MA. She was born November 9, 1939 in Greenfield, MA the daughter of Robert and Verna (Clough) Gibson. Rita was educated in Northfield schools and was a graduate of the Northfield School for Girls. She furthered her education with a college degree. She married Donald Oberacker who predeased her in 2016. She then taught elementary school for many years in Winchester, N.H. from where she retired. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her children: Chad Oberacker of Gill, MA and Lisa Oberacker of Oakland, ME. She also survived by a sister Susan Murray and her husband Eugene of Northfield, MA and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Brenda and a brother David.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave, Northfield, MA is in charge of arrangements.
