Walter F. Burnham

Harrisburg, PA - Walter F. Burnham, 75, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 30, 2024, after a three-year battle with cancer. Walter was born in Greenfield, MA, April 9, 1949, the son of John Burnham and Marjorie (Wheeler) Burnham. He attended the former Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, graduating in 1967. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1971. He attended Lehigh University for post-graduate work. He worked his entire career in chemical engineering in various places throughout the country. He enjoyed artistic woodworking and travel.

Walter is survived by his wife, Joy Knohr, and four stepchildren, Laura Manners, Lisa Upton, Christopher Spaugy, and Steven Knohr, and their families. Walter is also survived by his brother, James Burnham, of Shelburne, MA, and his sister, Emily Johnson, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and their families, plus numerous cousins and friends.

No services are planned per his wishes. The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania is assisting the family.

Emily and Jim.....so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I have very fond memories of spending time camping and at your house with all of you while I was growing up. Our parents were best friends and I will never forget that. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
