George Pepe Obituary

Slate Hill, NY

George Guido Pepe of Slate Hill died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at home. He was 85.

The son of the late Stefano and Raphaela Ressa Pepe, he was born on February 26, 1924 in Corona, NY.

He proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He met Antoinette Salvucci while they both worked in Macy's Hearld Square, and they married on April 10, 1948. George was a past president of the Holy Name Society; member of the Knights of Columbus, the 50 Plus Club of Hemlock Farms, PA and a Cub Master. He was formerly a member of St. John Neuman Church in Pennsylvania and currently a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown.

George is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette, at home; three daughters: Georgette Timmerman, Barbara Pepe and her husband, Tom Higgin, and Lynne Cook and her husband, Mike Anton; one son, Richard and his wife, Christine of Apex, NC; brother, Stephen and his wife, Natalie of Flushing; grandchildren: Rich and Tara Pepe, Adam Timmerman, his primary caregiver, Erich Timmerman, Clifford Cook IV, Kimberly Cook, Melissa Pepe, Rebecca Pepe, Angela Pepe and Richard Pepe; and three great-grandchildren: Brian, Kevin and Alex Pepe.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown. Burial with military honors will take place in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, NY 10924.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Adam Timmerman, 28 Hillside Rd., Slate Hill, NY 10973.

Dear Georgette, and family,

I can only say how sorry we are but having gone through this in December when i Lost my mom, i know how you must all feel, find strength in one anothers love and know that your Dad is no longer suffering, seeing you all at your birthday party last April, Georgette, i saw how close of a family that you all are. We miss you here at the Pavilion, and may you find strength in God's Love and all of your family and friends, your father was such a lucky man to have Adam and your family surrounded by him, that is what it is all about, to be there for one another, Love and sympathy, Linda Lounsbury and Family

Dear Georgette and your loving Family,

May you all know that your father and grandfather was greatly loved and cared for by you all and primarily by the strong and loving arms of Adam, now that he is in heaven he will be your great Saint and will protect and love all of you forever!
Having lost my Mom this past August, and being her caretaker i know that this really hurts for you all but know that they are in the arms of the
Lord and have now begun their spiritual life.
