Harriet 93 Obituary

Formerly of Port Jervis, NY

Mrs. Harriet R. Jaggie of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Port Jervis, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at home with her family by her side. She was 93.

She was born March 26, 1914 in Brockport, NY, the daughter of the late Charles H. and the late Mary Bibby Ruggles. She was married for 64 years to the late Casper V. Jaggie who passed away on May 7, 2004.

She graduated from Brockport State Teachers College and then worked as an elementary school teacher for 33 years in the Port Jervis School District. She belonged to the Deerpark Reformed Church, the Church League for Service; Port Jervis Community Club, AARP, NYS Teachers Association and the NYS Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are 1 son: Joel Jaggie and his wife Anne of Sun City, AZ; 4 sisters-in-law: Mabel Shields of Port Jervis, Gertrude Jaggie of Lexington, KY, Virginia Wood of Corey, PA, Rosalie Jaggie of Plant City, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Being one of six children she was the youngest and last survivor.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 on Tuesday, March 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W. Northern Ave., Suite A-100, c/o Connie Frisby, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
