James McGarry Obituary
James Joseph McGarry III departed this life for eternal rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at home. He was 65.
James was born October 28, 1943 in the Bronx, NY, to the late James J. McGarry II and Dorothy McGarry of the Bronx.
He was a resident of Highland Lake for 19 years. He served on the U.S.S. Fulton for the Navy from 1962-1966. He was a retired Custodian Engineer for the Board of Education, city of New York; past Commander for the Board of Ed., American Legion Post #1088 in the Bronx; a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus (1961-present); member of V.F.W. Post #161, Port Jervis, and the Elks Lodge, Port Jervis, NY.
James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ann McGarry; son, James J. McGarry IV of Yulan; daughters, Ann Marie Corcoran and her fiance, Thomas Beals of Highland Lake, Dee Dey and her husband, Cary of Mt. Hope, Catherine McGarry and her fiance, Andrew Gross of Highland Lake; son, John McGarry and his wife, Nadia of Yulan; nine grandchildren: John, Amanda, Colleen, Ashley, John Jr., Kaitlyn, Cody, Wyatt and Tyler; sister-in-law, Frances Barile and her husband, Alfred of the Bronx; two brothers, Kenneth McGarry and his wife, Muriel, and Dennis McGarry and his wife, Linda of New Jersey; nephew, Richard Barrett and his wife, Andrea; many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 ad 7-9 p.m., Friday, February 27, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Route 97, Barryville, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 28, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Yulan, NY. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery in Eldred, NY.

Daddy, If you only knew how I felt the night that you went away from me! But, you do and I respect you for being brave!! I will always love you and always miss you!!! We are all here for mom and always will be no matter what!!! You are the bravest man I have ever known in my life and I will never forget you!!! Dear Annie and Family,
I know not what to say !
Jimmy is a good man and know he is going to a better place. Remember his Spirit is still Alive and with You Always . As Always I keep you in my prayers and if you listen you will hear him. He is Greatly Missed but never forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jimmy and I were birthday buddies, both of us 10/28. I have so many great memories of all of us cousins at the house in the Bronx. Jimmy had a unique way of making people smile. I will always remember that. Please let me know if you need anything. I will keep you all in my prayers.
