Joseph D'Arco Obituary

Montgomery, NY

Joseph A. D'Arco, a heating and coolant service specialist, of Montgomery, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 55.

The son of the late Luigi and Rose Pecorelli D'Arco, he was born February 11, 1953 in the Bronx, NY.

A resident of the area since 1995, Joe was active in his community as an usher at St. Mary's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also always helped out at General Montgomery Day and at St. Mary's Church activities. Joe had special training for heating and cooling but he was for more than a technician. He treated his work as a vocation, he would drop anything to run and help out anyone in need. He loved his family and wanted assurance that they would be cared for.

If Joe ever said, "call if you need anything", he truly meant it.

He enjoyed meeting and talking to people and made many friends wherever he went.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Judy, at home; his son, Joseph Michael of N.Y.C.; his beloved daughter, Lauren D'Arco at home. He is also survived by his two sisters, Theresa Spano and her husband, John of Warwick and Roseann Isaac of Yonkers; several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of friends, and the many members of Judy's family that he held very dear. Joe was predeceased by his parents; and his son, Erik in 1998.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery.

Joe's family will like to extend their gratitude to the angels of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties; the staff at the Tucker Care Center; Dr. Kanowitz and her staff; Dr. Hardliner Chaudry, Dr. Elizabeth Zick and her staff, Joe's brother Knights of Counsel 2270 K of C and all their friends and neighbors for their prayers, support and kindness.

To assist in the future education of Joe's beloved daughter, Lauren D'Arco, memorial contributions may be made to the Lauren D'Arco Education Fund, c/o Walden Savings Bank, 99 Clinton St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

Rest in peace, rest in peace, Joe, our dear friend,
For your life here on earth has come to an end,
You are now in Our Lord's eternal embrace,
Help heal our sorrow with your loving grace.
You lived, you gave with a heart so kind,
Another like you we will never find,
You reached out to so many people in need,
A true servant of God, you were indeed,
You grew tired and weary, your suffering was great,You knew it was time to go to Heaven's Gate,
God sent an angel that memorable day,
To say "Come with me...God wants you Home to stay",
You faithfully surrended to God's loving grace,
Now you live in His Holy Place,
We wonder why you had to go,
It was God's loving plan, now we know,
You leave behind the family you cherished,
Their love for you will never perish,
Your bravery and courage are our lessons to behold,
Your life story will forever be told,
We wipe tears from our eyes as we say our goodbyes,
Our hearts are heavy and we still wonder why,
So, thank you, Joe, for letting us know,
How to live, love and when to let go (to God),
Rest in peace, rest in peace, Joe, our dear friend,
For this is not really your end,
You are now re-born in God's great grace,
We'll see you someday in His Holy Place.
Judy, Lauren, Jane & Families.....you are all loved!
With thoughts & prayers!
