RAYMOND UTTER Obituary



Chester, NY

God has chosen Father's Day, June 20, 2010 to welcome Ray into His presence while his family was by his side.

He was the son of the late Helen Gratz Utter and Willard Utter, born in Newton, NJ on April 27, 1933.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Chester, NY. He was co-owner of Gratz and Utter Produce of Goshen, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Lane Utter, formerly of Catskill, NY and his children: Jonathan and wife, Mary of Chester, Nancy of New Windsor, Beverly and husband, Kurt Vollrath of Manahawkin, NJ, Carl of Greenville, SC, and Matthew and wife, Annette of Greenwood, SC. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, brother, Harold "Jim" Utter of Chester and sister, Ruth Utter Deursch of Sarasota, FL, as well as eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 22, during the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe, NY 10950.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 5 Wisner Road, Warwick, NY 10990. Burial will follow in the family plot at Warwick Community Cemetery, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray's name may be made to the First Baptist Church, 481 South St., Newburgh, NY 12550 or The Gideon's International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or [email protected].
