Richard McNair Obituary

Formerly of Newburgh, NY

Richard McNair, a former resident of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran, a U.S. Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Poughkeepsie, NY, and a retired Auto Mechanic. He was the 5th eldest child of the late Marshall C. McNair and Emily M. Hill McNair.

Survivors include his wife and daughter of South Bound Brook, NJ; his daughter, Vivian Hill McNair of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; three brothers: Marshall McNair and wife, Diane, Edward McNair of Newburgh, and David McNair of Peekskill, NY; four sisters: Mildred McNair Wilson and husband, Louis of Newburgh, Viola McNair Young of Albany, NY, Virginia McNair Lyon and husband, Donald of Washington DC, and Dora L. McNair Brown and husband, Thomas of Stafford, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts. He was predeceased by his parents, Marshall and Emily McNair; one sister, Bernice McNair Green; one brother, Joseph O'Dell McNair; and his son, Dorien Richard McNair.

The wake service will be private.
