Sigrid I. Wolfe, 79, was a retired secretary. She had many interesting jobs in her lifetime. She worked in New York City for James Cash Penney at JC Penney and at Idlewild Airport which is now JFK International Airport.

While raising her children, she worked nights at South Oaks Psychiatric Hospital. She retired after many years as the secretary for Narrowsburg Central School. She lived in Narrowsburg for 36 years, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Country Estates in Agawam, MA.

The daughter of the late Philip N. Werner and Ebba A. Bjorn Werner, she was born at the Swedish Hospital in Brooklyn on November 19, 1929.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the her husband, Robert and her brother, Gustave.

She is survived by her three sons: James R. and his wife, Melissa, Thomas E. and his wife, Helen, and William J. and his wife, Edith; also three daughters: Eileen M. Peloquin and her husband, Richard, Ann M. Wolfe and Regina M. Malzahn and her husband, Clinton; 14 grandchildren: Lisa, Michael, Bryan, Lauren, Jennifer, Lindsay, AJ, Matthew, Kevin, Rachel, Daniel, Christopher, Patricia, and Joseph; five great-grandchildren: Julie, Sydney, Chloe, Mia and Olivia. She will be missed by her special friend, her poodle, Molly.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her family, from picking up toads to sharing holidays together, making every moment special.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, November 20, from 9-9:30 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 20, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Narrowsburg, NY, with Father William Scully, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
