Walter was a great guy and his smile out shined... I went to high school with Walter and cheerleaded for the football team he once played on. The cheers, Mrs. McKenzie's horn, and his name echoed in the halls. Even though we never saw each other again, when you reminisce about days gone by, Walter is a part of those memories. His achievements, records set, and team appeal. I'm sure he touched many lives and the world is missing someone pretty special.

To the Moseley Family,
My deepest condolences for your loss. Walter probably would not have remembered me, but he was a very big deal to me 22 years ago. I attended Bernice Wright pre-school, and to this day, my only memories of pre-school involve playing with Walter when he worked there while attending Syracuse University. My family and I still laugh about how I used to play hide-and-go-seek with him and how hard it was for him to actually be able to hide given how much bigger he was than all of us. He certainly had a way with children, and had a charm about him that makes him unforgettable. He touched many lives and made a huge impact on people that will live on for years to come.

I am shocked at Walter's passing. We played some great basketball at JD Middle School on Wednesday evenings for many years. He was a great athlete and fierce competitor. We grieve for his family and send our love and prayers.

I was so saddened to see Walter's beautiful smiling face when I opened the paper this morning. Walter was a student teacher in my son's preschool (Bernice Wright at SU) 22 years ago. I remember him distinctly. My 4 year old son used to come home from school and all he talked about was Walter. Once I met Walter I was equally impressed. Seeing him working amongst the 3 and 4 year olds was a joy to behold. Walter always had 3 or 4 kids at a time hanging off of him. I remember being so impressed that he always squatted down to the level of the kids when he was talking with them or teaching them. They hung on every word.
Walter had the patience of a saint and a hug, smile or pat on the head for every kid in the room.
I am so thankful that my son had the opportunity to have Walter for a teacher.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Walter's family. The world is a better place for his having been here.

Walter was a good friend. I have fond memories of our Sunday football league, and the fun we had. He always had a smile that was contagious. He was a stand-up guy, and one of my favorite people. He will be missed. All my deepest sympathy to his wife and daughters.
