Juanita Hartsell Obituary
Penny loved music, fishing, dancing, the outdoors, and animals. She loved sunflowers and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Nascar, anything Coca-Cola, and she still loved the 49'ers and her long hair. She loved artwork and baskets from her native people: Pit River, Hat Creek & Choctaw.
Penny is preceded in death by her parents, John Elden Spurgin and Ruby Pearl Lawhon, her brothers Rusty Scovel and Jimmy Spurgin. She is survived by brother Eddie Scovel of Burney, and her daughters Robin Thomas of Shasta Lake and Kellie Strong and son-in-law Jeff Strong of Redding, her grandchildren Stephen Manz, Tyler Hartsell, Sarah Thomas, Ashley Armstrong, also Lillylai Armstrong, and Amy and Jordan Gonzales of Redding, and her family and friends from the past and present that she loved and loved her. Her family extended far beyond blood.
