Robert Elsemore Obituary

Robert "Dan" Elsemore

Anderson, CA

Dan Elsemore, age 75, was born in Burns, Oregon, to Perry and Leila Elsemore and was nearly a lifelong Anderson resident. He passed away of natural causes in Mercy Hospital on October 30, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Dan was a 1958 graduate of Anderson High School and graduated from Oregon Technical Institute in 1960. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Anderson Lodge #509. He was a career auto mechanic and was also "Mr. Fix-it" for nearly any broken mechanical item. The family joked that the best gift to give him was a broken chain saw, or similar, so he could make it run again. He was introduced to the sport of shooting muzzle-loader rifles in his late 50's and enjoyed several years of attending "rendezvous" and campouts. Eventually his lungs required him to change to less strenuous activities.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Vinum Elsemore, daughter Lori Wilkinson (and Bob) of Anderson, son Rob Elsemore (and Shannon) of Rocklin, and grandsons Jameson and Jackson Elsemore, brother John H. Elsemore of Anderson, sisters Ella Fredrickson of Aptos and Linda Rasumussen of Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel, 2030 Howard Street, Anderson on Saturday November 14, 2015, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Hospice, 1544 Market Street, Redding, CA 96001.

Lori,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I remember meeting your dad for the first time in Shingletown. Bob was up there preparing his cedar boards. Your dad was kind and funny. I could tell how much he cared for you and what a blessing to have him for your father. My love to you and your family.
