I didn't know Steve all that well, but even in the first 5 minutes of knowing him you could tell what a generous and kind person he was. I know he will be missed by many.

One of my greatest memories is from one of my early camping trips to whiskeytown with the family. I had my first child and was camping with a baby. Steve would take Mackenzie from me at camp and hold her. He loved holding babies and was so good with them. He was a sweet man and he will be greatly missed.

The world lost a remarkable man. Steve was an amazing Man. He was always the first to help when needed. Willing to drive miles to visit family and friends he loved and valued so much. His generosity was endless traveling across the world to help teach men in a different country a new trade. Steve you have blessed every person who new you, and I am eager to see your legacy live through your children, grandchildren and wife. I love you and will miss you forever!

It's difficult to put into words all of what my uncle Steve was. To say he was kind, loving, devoted to his family, entertaining, or brave doesn't really serve him justice. He was those things but so much more. I see all of these qualities in his children. The Rodarte heart and spirit lives on through them. I will miss him so much but always smile when I think of him because that's what he always made us do.
