Victor Lammers Obituary
Victor Lammers, Jr. passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 18, 2010.
Born in Berkeley to Victor and Caroline (Bertagna) Lammers on April 10, 1927.
The family lived in Oakland. At 4 years old, they moved to the Lammers Ranch on Hatchet Mountain. He attended grammar school in Montgomery Creek where he knew Marguerite Young. At 12 years, Victor milked cows in the family dairy getting up at 4 am and finished ranch chores at 10 pm.
He graduated from Shasta Union High School, Redding in 1945. He worked in a local sawmill for 4 years and also helped his parents on the ranch until 1949. He attended Chico State for 2 years, then transferred to UC Davis in 1951 - receiving a BS degree in Animal Husbandry and graduated with a DVM class of 1957.
He married Marguerite in December of 1957. He worked at the Berkeley Humane Society for 4 years and the practiced for 40 years at his business Lammers Veterinary Hospital in San Pablo with his brother and partner, Robert Lammers. Victor enjoyed working, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Recently, he attended computer classes at Redding Senior Center and Redding Library.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite of Montgomery Creek/Redding; children, Helen Elizabeth Cleek (Kurt) of Spearfish, SD, Victor Daniel Lammers (Karen) of Glendale, AZ, Julia Caroline Fox (Bruce) of El Sobrante, CA, Thomas Frank Lammers of Redding and Anne Toinette Kirkland (Scott) of Cottonwood/Richmond; grandchildren, Katie and James Cleek, Nathan Lammers, Benjamin, Nicholas and Kimberly Fox and Tyler and Kaylynne Kirkland; brother and sisters, Robert Lammers (Prudy) of Redding, Dorothy Payne of Sacramento, and Marie Ball (Gordon) of Crescent City. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm at
Halcumb Cemetery Chapel, Montgomery Creek.

My sympathy to Marguerite and the children. We were next door neighbors on Christopher Court in El Sobrante when our kids were in grade school. I remember his sense of humor and dedication to his profession.

My deepest sympathies to the Lammers Family - you have been a great friend to my father, Frank Felch for many many years. You took over the old Felch ranch, and kept the property in one piece, and for that the entire Felch family is grateful. I know you will be missed by all that knew you. To Marguerite and family of Vic...
We carry fond memories of long-ago school days when all of us rode the school bus to Shasta High. I have known Vic since grammar school
and of late, phone calls from him to keep in touch, so that we often
exchanged our personal memories of childhood on. Vic was one of a kind. Our best wishes to you, Marguerite, and we'll keep tabs on you as time goes by. I have fond memories of you and your family from the time I was a youngster... your wonderful parents and brother.
