Alphes Chesson Obituary

WILLIAMSTON - Alphes Rupert Chesson Sr., 74, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at The Memorial Baptist Church in Williamston with Pastor Robbie Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Tice Cemetery in the Farm Life Community. A lifetime native of Martin County, he served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from Williamston Motor Company where he served as General Manager. He was preceded in death by his son, David Manning; and father, Mark Chesson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Manning Chesson; three sons and their wives, and eight grandchildren: Al and Margaret and children, Will, Sara, and Anna; Doug and Christine and children, Caroline, Douglas, and Garron, all of Williamston; and Brant and Kellie and children, Grayson and Griffin of Holly Springs. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Chesson; brothers, Elwood, Charles, Jimmy, and Keith, all of Williamston; and sister, Diane Whitley of Greenville. Visitation will be tonight from 7-8:30 at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston. Memorials may be directed to The Memorial Baptist Church in Williamston, The American Cancer Society Relay for Life, or a charity of choice. Arrangements by Biggs Funeral Home.

I really enjoyed working with and having Mr. Rupert as a friend. There was so much he knew and was always helping me.

Our hearts go out to you at this time. It was a real joy to work with him to many years. A thought
came to me that would be interesting to him. He left is on the day Mr. Green was born his good buddy for so many years. Our thought will be wih you in the coming days
