Bobby Kirkman Obituary
VANCEBORO - Mr. Bobby Gene Kirkman, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at the Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Kirkman Family Cemetery on River Road. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at the church, beginning at 2 PM.
He loved fishing and hunting and talking to people. He never met a stranger. He farmed for many years and after farming, started working with his family at A & J Canvas, where he worked for 32 years. It was there that he gained many lifelong friends, including his associates at Grady White Boats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Irene Kirkman; brother, James Kirkman, and granddaughter, Summer Renee Adams.
He is survived by; his wife of 48 years, Georgia Lee Kirkman; daughters, Michelle Hargett and husband, David, April Kirkman and friend, Troy Donahue, all of Vanceboro; grandchildren, Joshua Hawkins, Dakota Wright, C.J. Wright, Myrandi Hargett, Robbie Hargett, Olivia Hawkins, and Ashlyn Hawkins; brother, Alton Kirkman and wife, Kay, of Statesville; and his father and mother in law, Jerry & Ada Shoe, of Vanceboro; along with several nieces and nephews.

Our sincerest sympathy to Lee and family. We are Christina Marshen's parents, Dave and Laureen in New Jersey, and just heard the very sad news.
