Ellen Harrell Obituary
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Harrell was a native of Pitt County and spent her entire life in the Belvoir community. In 1963, she married Tommy Leroy Harrell. She spent her entire career in the healthcare field, most recently as a business office manager at Carolina Care Assisted Living. She was loved by anyone who came in contact with her. Not only was she loving, caring, and compassionate to her family, but also to others in need.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tommy Leroy Harrell of Belvoir; three daughters, Tammy Harrell of Farmville, Lorrie Harrell of the home, and Ellen Annette Lopez and husband, Carlos of the home; four grandchildren, Cecil Sanderson Jr., Tiffany Annette Sanderson, Jamie Lee Avila, and Carlos Miguel Lopez Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smith Funeral & Cremation Services to assist the family with funeral expenses: 605 Country Club Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.

Tommy, I am so sorry about Ellen. It was a shock when Daddy called me. I think about all the good times she & I had growing up. I wish I could be there with you & the family for the memorial service. You will be in my thoughts & prayers.
